Nigeria’s Falconets head coach, Moses Aduku, has opened up about his unexpected entry into women’s football, his emotional coaching journey, Rwanda rout, and tactical plans.

Aduku spoke passionately during a special interview on Brila FM’s No Holds Barred Show, hosted by former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze, days after Nigeria’s dominant 5–0 aggregate win over Rwanda.

“When they told me to come to handle the team, I just tell myself that men and women are the same, not just that the gender is different,” he said.

But he admitted the early days were challenging.

“At the first year, I won run back. You know, women, they get this emotional side. If you don’t know how to handle their emotional side, it will be difficult for you to coach them as a man,” Aduku revealed.

National Team Job More Demanding than Club — Aduku

Asked about the difference between coaching club and national teams, Aduku was candid:

“National team is more difficult. Because national team you get a short period to prepare a team to play.”

“Club side, if you sign 2 years contract, even if you first year not go well, you still get another year to build. But national team, you must build fast, qualify, and also win competition proper,” he explained.

“No Excuses, We Must Win” – Moses Aduku Reveals Ahead of Senegal Test

Nigeria’s Falconets head coach Moses Aduku has vowed that his team will be fully prepared for their crucial World Cup qualifying clash against Senegal next February.

He stressed that “there are no excuses” as the team aims to secure a ticket to the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

Aduku made clear that the Falconets have quickly shifted focus from Rwanda to Senegal.

“I watched that first game, I find Senegal are a good side.”

“They drew 0-0 at home and won 2-0 away. But if we can put our hearts together, we will play them well and come out on top,” he said.

He also hinted at minor squad changes:

“If I see one or two, three good players, we will take and change them to build up the ones we don’t get already. We don’t want to scatter everybody. We just need to win that.”

Moses Aduku concluded by sharing the vision of the team and the importance of the World Cup ticket.

“This is one of the big issues. They don’t give me walk-up ticket. It will be a waste of my time telling Nigeria not to go for a walk-up.”

“So, I just have a very big task in my hands,” Aduku said.

With several months to prepare before the February showdown, Aduku is confident his team will be ready to deliver.

“We just start the journey. But at the end of the journey, it will be fruitful,” he concluded.
