Most of the focus for Liverpool so far this summer in the land of transfers and rumour mongering has been on the ongoing overhaul of the attack, as sporting director Richard Hughes looks to set up manager Arne Slot for a Premier League title defence in 2025-26.

Still, there’s plenty of potential for movement around the fringes of the first team, and one young player attracting interest is 19-year-old Scottish winger Ben Doak. It’s not, perhaps, all that surprising given Doak was targeted by Ipswich and Crystal Palace in January.

There were even reports that Palace were prepared to pay £20M for him at the time, though that wouldn’t have met the Reds’ valuation and so nothing came of the chatter. Now, though, there could be two new clubs in the mix, with West Ham and Wolves said to be interested.

What isn’t entirely certain in the case of Doak, perhaps unusually so, is quite what Liverpool’s valuation is. Unlike in the case of a player like Harvey Elliott, said to be valued as high as £50M, we only know in Doak’s case that £20M from Palace wouldn’t have been enough.

Given the player remains highly rated within the club, it could also be the Reds would simply prefer to loan him out again this season to continue his development. If West Ham and Wolves—and maybe Palace as well—are all interested, though, you couldn’t rule out a sale.
