Reliable reports have Liverpool preparing to make a formal offer for Newcastle superstar striker Alexander Isak.
Following news Liverpool had accepted a €75M (£65.5M) bid for Colombian winger Luis Diaz from Bayern Munich, attention turned quickly to who the Reds might sign to replace the departing forward.

And we might just be on the verge of a formal Liverpool offer for Isak. At least that’s what The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope—widely considered to be one of the most reliable sources for Newcastle insight—thinks.
Liverpool had previously signalled they would be willing to pay £120M for Isak, with further rumours suggesting they might go as high as £130M with add-ons. For their part, Newcastle have set a £150M valuation.
Isak has not joined Newcastle’s Asian pre-season tour, complaining of a thigh issue—though scans subsequently revealed no issues or damage. Manager Eddie Howe has said he does not expect Isak to join up.
“It’s business as usual for the players,” Howe insisted. “We’re going to miss a player of Alex’s quality and the group are going to feel that, but they’re a very a professional group of players and they’re doing brilliantly.”
As the Isak to Liverpool rumours intensified, Newcastle became heavily linked with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško as a potential replacement. Manchester United also rumoured to be interested in the striker.
