The club website has been subtly altered to honor Diogo Jota, with a new section entitled “Forever” visible on the squad page.
The website’s squad page lists players by position, players out on loan, and the club staff roles with individual links to player and staff profiles.
Jota’s entry has been moved from the active forwards list and into his own category, which allows the club to permanently honor his contributions and achievements with the club.
When users click through to his player profile, it has been updated to include not just his career statistics, but also a short memorial to the player. The write-up ends with words that echo memorials at the recent pre-season friendly:
“As his own supporter chant referenced so often, his name was Diogo and he took us to victory.
“He will always be our number 20.”
