Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun is excited to break his goal drought for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The centre-back scored in the 29th minute as the Gernot Rohr’s tutored defeated Central African Republic 2-0, at the Stade Omnisports, Japoma, Douala on Sunday.
The 33-year-old defender was widely criticised for his poor performance in the Thursday’s defeat, but he made amend by getting his name on the scoresheet.
The Rangers defender volleyed home after a superb cross from Chidozie Awaziem, before going out in the second half.
“My first goal in seven years! I have been looking forward so much for it and I am happy it finally came, and on a day like this,” The Rangers of Scotland defender told the media.
Meanwhile, Balogun is expected to be fit for Rangers game against Hearts this Saturday.
