Liverpool and Crystal Palace will face off in the fourth round of the 2024-25 edition of League Cup in what feels like the 3,872nd meeting of the two sides this year with the two Premier League sides drawn against each other following the conclusion of the third round this evening.
Palace will travel to Anfield for the meeting, which is set to take place the week of October 27th. The Reds beat Southampton on Tuesday to advance to the fourth round of England’s second cup competition while Palace snuck past Millwall on penalties in their game on Tuesday to advance.
The two sides met most recently in the Community Shield, which Palace won on penalties. They will play in the Premier League on Saturday with Liverpool at Selhurst Park. Including last season’s 1-1 draw in May, the League Cup meeting will be the fourth time they face each other in 2025.
Outher noteworth fourth round pairings include Arsenal hosting Brighton, Newcastle welcoming Tottenham to St. James Park, and Wolves vs. Chelsea. Championship Wrexham drawing League One’s Cardiff City at home will be the round’s only tie involving two non-Premier League clubs.
