According to reports, the former SC Freiburg has agreed to a contract and will join the Reds on a free transfer
It has been a quiet summer thus far for the Liverpool FC Women, but that may be about to change. The Reds have announced contract extensions for several players, including Ceri Holland, but no new players or the new manager have been strongly linked up until this point.
According to the Soccerdonna account, a steady source of transfer information in the women’s game, Liverpool are set to sign goalkeeper Rafaela Borggräfe. The player signing was reportedly set for this past Saturday, but the death of Diogo Jota delayed the announcement.
According to our information, Rafaela Borggräfe will join Liverpool. The German goalkeeper is due to be announced and all negotiations have been agreed upon.

The 25 year old revealed she would be leaving SC Freiburg in April after spending 12 years at the club. After making 59 starts for the German club the last fours seasons she left in search of a new challenge, something she will certainly find in the WSL.
“SC Freiburg has been my home, my daily life, my heart for over a decade. I came here as a young girl and was given the chance to grow step by step – both as a player and as a person. I’ve grown alongside the club, experienced highs and lows, and most importantly, met many special people who’ve shaped my journey. SC gave me the opportunity to live out my dream of becoming a professional footballer, and for that I’m endlessly grateful. Leaving the club wasn’t an easy decision, but I feel that now is the right time for me to take a new path and challenge myself in new ways.”
Borggräfe will join veteran Rachael Laws and youngster Faye Kirby in the Liverpool goalkeeping corps, replacing the recently departed Teagan Micah. Borggräfe will be expected to push Laws for the starting gloves.
