The Japanese captain is not satisfied with just the two trophies

When he came to Liverpool, Wataru Endō knew he was coming to a team expecting to win silverware.

Speaking to Red Machine podcast, the Japanese midfielder let the audience know that simply winning the League Cup and the Premier League has not fulfilled his goals with the Reds — he’s hopeful for more:

“[When] I came to Liverpool, I really wanted to achieve [the] Premier League title. I feel like this is why I play football.

“I hope this is just the beginning to achieve the titles. Because after I came here, I won the Carabao Cup [in the] first season and the Premier League [in the] second season. So, I just want to keep continuing to win titles with the fans.

“It means a lot to me but I still feel like we can achieve something more with the staff and the team and for the fans.”

Speaking of his time so far at Liverpool, Endō centered the fans in his experience:

“I knew that it means a lot to Liverpool fans because Liverpool had 19 titles and we needed one more title to equal Manchester United.

“I was so happy to win the league with the fans, my teammates and all the staff.

“To achieve this title [means] a lot to the fans, I knew that. The thing what I can do for Liverpool is to give 100 percent on the pitch. I just want to win the title with the fans, so that’s what I tried to [do].

“I love Liverpool Football Club. We won titles every season, so I hope this keeps [on] going and we will share a lot of great moments together.”

Endō is very very clearly one of us, and certainly wants us to be hopeful for next season.
